A food Seller Shot His Son Who He Mistook As An Intruder

A food seller fatally shot his son who he mistook as an intruder trying to rob his household in a happening in Kampung Baru Balakong, on Wednesday.

Kajang district police chief, ACP Ab Rashid Ab Wahab said in the 10.16pm incident, the seventy six year recent trader heard cries for facilitate from his Myanmar employee staying in a hut behind his house.

He said the elderly man wakened his fifty one-year-old son and immediately reached for a semi-automatic gun to use against the intruder and both went outside to go for the employee's hut.

 "In the darkness, the son who was armed with a parang had dashed forward towards the hut without the daddy realising it. The daddy then fired three shots, thinking that the figure he saw within the darkness was the intruder.

 "One of the 3 shots hit his son on the pinnacle and the victim died at the scene," he told a news conference at the district police headquarters Thursday. Ab Rashid said the trader was detained to help police within the investigation however was released on police bail today. The case is being investigated underneath Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
